Three tornadoes on the ground at the same time near Dodge City, Kansas, May 24, 2016.

Much of North Dakota faces a Level 3 severe weather threat Friday, including the Jamestown area, with the National Weather Service warning that “everything is on the table,” including tornadoes.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to become severe after a warm day with upper 80s temperatures. There’s a 30% chance of storms between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., increasing to 50% after 4 p.m., with the greatest severe weather potential between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Potential impacts include tennis ball-sized hail, damaging winds up to 80 mph, and possible tornadoes, especially along the I-94 corridor.

Saturday will remain warm with mid-80s temperatures, but storm chances return Saturday evening and early Sunday as a cold front drops temperatures to the low 70s. Cooler weather and shower chances will continue into next week, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

June typically brings North Dakota’s heaviest rainfall of the year.
