A tornado was confirmed in Stark County, North Dakota, about 12 miles southwest of Dickinson, shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
The tornado was moving southeast at 30 mph as part of a supercell storm system. Storm chasers captured video of the tornado forming southwest of Dickinson, and radar confirmed it was on the ground near South Heart, approximately 9 miles south of town.
The National Weather Service issued the confirmation as severe weather moved through the area.
