Teen suffers life-threatening injuries after hitting semi in Barnes County

A 16-year-old girl suffered serious, life-threatening injuries after Highway Patrol says she crashed into a semi in Barnes County.

According to the release, the crash happened just after 10:00 A.M. on June 19, at the intersection of 24th street and 112th Avenue south about a mile east of Rogers.

North Dakota Highway Patrol says the teen from Hannaford, who was driving a 1994 Dodge Ram, ran a stop sign and struck the rear passenger trailer tank of a Peterbilt semi driven by a 68-year-old man from Eckelson.

The driver of the Peterbilt was not injured while the driver of the Ram is being treated for life-threatening injuries. NDHP also confirms that the 16-year-old wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The identity of the injured driver will not be revealed since she is a juvenile.
