As first reported by KUMV, Fisher Sand and Gravel, a North Dakota company, has received a contract exceeding $309 million to build approximately 27 miles of border barrier in Arizona. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem cited the location as a high-traffic area for unauthorized border crossings and narcotics trafficking. The funding comes from 2021 appropriations that were previously suspended under the Biden administration, though no construction timeline has been announced. Fisher previously secured nearly $2 billion in border projects during Trump’s initial presidency.
