Following recent severe weather in North Dakota, the USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) is urging farmers to contact their local FSA offices to explore available federal assistance. Whether facing livestock losses, destroyed hay bales, or crop damage, support may be available through various disaster relief programs.
Beau Peterson, the state’s Conservation and Livestock Program Director, emphasized the importance of communication, encouraging producers to reach out even if they’re unsure what programs apply. Farmers have until March 1, 2026, to report losses and apply for livestock assistance programs.
