The National Weather Service has confirmed at least nine touch-down tornadoes on Friday, June 27  in North Dakota, with another tornado confirmed in Stutsman County.

Dangerous weather swept through the central and eastern part of the state for the second consecutive Friday night, with straight-line winds of up to 80 miles per hour in addition to the tornados.

Confirmed touch-downs include three in the Bismarck area, two near Temvik, and one each near Hannover, Crown Butte Lake, Menoken, Driscoll, and McKenzie.

Stutsman County Emergency Alert dispatch also confirmed to KSJB Radio that one tornado was spotted in north-central Stutsman County between Jamestown and Carrington around 11:00 p.m.

The violent storms continued moving eastward into the early morning hours, with Tornado Watches active in most eastern counties until the early morning hours.

Pictures of a terrifying funnel cloud north of Bismarck have circulated on the internet worldwide, going viral.    There were no confirmed deaths due to the tornados, and state officials are still assessing damage and possible injuries.

The forecast this week for Stutsman County includes sweltering mid-90 degree weather on Thursday, followed by possible thunderstorms over the Independence Day weekend.
