Timberwolves Re-Sign Offensive Producers Over Weekend

One burning question looming in the Minnesota Timberwolves offseason was the future of two offensive producers on the court last year, Center Naz Reid, and Forward Julius Randle.

Rest assured to the fanbase who seen their team make a second consecutive trip to the Western Conference Finals, the team announced that BOTH Reid, and Randle will sign new contracts after both deferred their players options.

Naz Reid intends to sign a new 5-year $125 Million dollar deal. Reid was a valuable asset coming off the bench, both under the basket and from the 3-pt line. Minnesota will keep its best bench player for the foreseeable future. Reid will also have a player option in the ’29-’30 season.

Julius Randle also intends to sign his new deal at 3-years for $100 Million. Randle came to Minnesota in the Karl Anthony-Towns trade, and was slow to establish himself as one of the main contributors to the team, but would eventually find his fit, and helped lead Minnesota to its second straight appearance in the Western Conference Finals.  Randle will return with running mate Anthony Edwards, trying to get over the Conference Finals hump. Randle also has a player option in the ’27-’28 season.

Anthony Edwards is locked in, his running mate and Minnesota’s second leading scorer Julius Randle is locked down, the main contributor coming off the bench is locked in. Could this mean the Timberwolves are preparing to make one more move in order to help the team get to the NBA Finals? Minnesota lacks a true scoring point guard, could the Wolves be looking into the trade/free agent market who can come in and score some points if Randle and Edwards are having an off night?

NBA free agency starts TODAY at 6 pm.
