Independence Day is an explosive event in the U.S., as fireworks cause fires and injuries throughout the country. The holiday is seen as an event where at least one American will lose a finger or two. Thankfully, no such events were reported in Jamestown, as a representative from Jamestown Regional Medical Center says that no firework-related injuries came into their emergency room.

However, the Jamestown Fire Department reports that there were three calls related to firework mishaps over the Fourth of July weekend. One incident occurred when discarded fireworks in a dumpster were not fully extinguished, resulting in a small fire. The other two were separate incidents in driveways where fireworks were set off too close to each other.
