Although the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) includes major investments in agriculture, some farm groups say it still leaves important issues unresolved.
The National Farmers Union voiced concern that the bill may complicate efforts to pass a slimmer, more targeted farm bill. While the National Corn Growers Association added that the bill fails to deliver on a permanent fix for year-round E15 fuel sales, saying another bill or continuing resolution may be necessary to address it.
The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, however, welcomed the bills support for key conservation programs. The bill includes billions in funding for conservation efforts like EQUIP, the Conservation Stewardship Program, and the Agriculture Conservation Easement Program, along with increased support for animal disease prevention. Ag leaders say they’ll be watching Congress closely as they push to finish work on remaining priorities.
