Two major construction projects are affecting traffic in Jamestown as crews work on infrastructure improvements and repairs.
The city is replacing water main lines on West Business Loop from Fourth Avenue SW at the bottom of Mill Hill to the old Hardee’s area, then continuing north on First Avenue for three blocks according to Tyler Michel, Jamestown’s Public Works Director. This work is being completed in preparation for the North Dakota Department of Transportation’s upcoming roundabout construction and the conversion of West Business Loop from asphalt to concrete.
Meanwhile, a separate state project is conducting concrete pavement repairs on West Business Loop from the top of Mill Hill south to Country Club Road. Michel tells KSJB that crews have completed work on the inside lanes and will begin repairs on the outside lanes next Tuesday. The project also includes concrete repairs on the I-94 West ramps near McDonald’s and Burger King.
The DOT has established detours for the pavement repair work.
