The Trump administration has launched a new National Farm Security Action Plan aimed at banning future Chinese ownership of U.S properties.
Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, backed by other officials and lawmakers, warned that foreign land ownership poses a national security threat and announced plans to revoke current USDA agreements with foreign entities, removing hundreds of them from preferred vendor lists, and potentially reverse previous land acquisitions using executive authority.
USDA data shows Chinese entities currently own over 277,000 acres in the U.S., with most holdings in Texas, North Carolina, and Missouri.
The plan adds Rollins to the CFIUS committee, tightening federal oversight of foreign land deals.
