The condition of the U.S. corn crop held steady last week, with 74% rated good to excellent. Development is slightly ahead of the five-year average, with 34% silking and 7% in the dough stage.
Soybeans saw their first condition improvement in several weeks, rising 4 points to 70% good to excellent, while blooming and pod-setting were slightly behind last year but near average.
Winter wheat harvest reached 63% nationwide, still slightly behind typical progress, while spring wheat improved 4 points to 54% good to excellent, though still well below last year’s 77%.
Weather continues to be mostly favorable across the Corn Belt, with widespread rain expected from a slow-moving front.
