Gary Lorenz Sworn In as Fargo Fire Chief

Fargo has a new fire chief.

Gary Lorenz was sworn into the position on Monday by the City Commission.   Lorenz was most recently the fire chief in Grand Forks, and spent nearly three decades previously with the Fargo Fire Department.

Details about his salary have not yet been shared with KSJB Radio, but previous statements from city leaders indicated Lorenz will make around $200,000 annually.

He takes over for Steve Dirksen, who retired in May after 14 years and chief.
