On Tuesday (July 29), John Michael Montgomery announced the details of his upcoming farewell concert, which is set to take place on December 12 at Lexington’s Rupp Arena, the city where his career first began back in 1992. The country music legend will be joined by his brother Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry, son Walker Montgomery, and son-in-law Travis Denning, with plans to celebrate over three decades in music during this final show. Throughout his illustrious career, Montgomery has charted 36 singles, including seven No. 1 hits, released 11 studio albums, sold over 16 million albums, and received multiple platinum and gold certification from the RIAA, culminating with an induction into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2011. Montgomery’s legacy includes timeless classics like “I Swear,” “I Love the Way You Love Me,” “I Can Love You Like That,” and “Life’s a Dance.” (Taste of Country)
