After a hot summer, what kind of weather should North Dakotans expect this fall? Well, the Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts western and eastern North Dakota will experience different fall weather patterns.
Their prediction asserts that eastern North Dakota should expect cooler and drier conditions with September averaging 57 degrees, two degrees below normal. October will average 45 degrees, also two degrees below normal, with frequent rain and early snow possible.
Western North Dakota is predicted to see warmer-than-average temperatures with more rainfall than normal through fall.
The autumnal equinox begins September 22nd, though meteorologists consider fall to run from September 1st through November 30th. The almanac claims 80 percent accuracy using solar patterns and historical data, though last winter’s predictions were only 64 percent accurate.
