The University of North Dakota says destruction of the Hyslop Sports Center is ready to begin on Monday.
The athletic and event facility in Grand Forks has been used for over 70 years, and has been known by its current name since 1981. It was originally known as The Field House.
UND officials say the demolition will take about a month, and clear space for new STEM teaching and research facilities.
The new Hyslop at Memorial Village will now host sports, student-athlete facilities, community gathering spaces, and apartments. Fundraising for the Pollard Athletic Center is currently in Phase 2.
