Severe storms intensified rapidly across North Dakota yesterday afternoon, leading to tornado watches across the region and confirmed tornado activity near Ashley.
Heavy rainfall led to heavy flash flooding in Stutsman, Dickey, McIntosh, and Barnes counties, with more mild flooding throughout southeastern North Dakota. There was 7.2 inches of rain reported in Kulm, four inches in Lehr, and three-and-a-half inches reported in Ellendale.
Crews still learning about the extent of damage from last night’s storms this morning.
