North Dakota’s grape and wine industry is set to benefit from $80,000 in grant funding aimed at boosting research, marketing, and promotion through 2025–2027. Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring announced the support for four key organizations, with the largest grant—$45,000—going to North Dakota State University for research on improving grapevine resilience against the region’s extreme weather.
The North Dakota Grape and Wine Association received $15,000 to raise awareness of local wine products.
And the Winery Association of North Dakota and Viking Vines each received $10,000. These grants, selected by a review committee, aim to strengthen the state’s wine sector by supporting innovation, visibility, and closer connections between agriculture and tourism.
