Green Bay Packers starting quarterback Jordan Love will be sideline for the next week of practice as he deals with a thumb injury on his non-throwing hand.
General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced to media that Love will undergo a small procedure on the thumb to fix a ligament, and is expected to be back at practice sometime next week.
With the news, Gutekunst also said that he and the Packers do not believe Love will miss the teams 2025 season opener against the Detroit Lions.
The Packers are dealing with a few injuries to begin their 2025 campaign, wide receiver Jayden Reed is in a walking boot, and Christian Watson is still out dealing with the recovery from his torn ACL he suffered during the end of last season.
Green Bay will look to Malik Willis to lead the team’s offense in Love’s absence, as well as other backup quarterbacks Sean Clifford, and Taylor Elgersma. Green Bay will be in action this Saturday when they travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts for game 2 of the preseason.
