An 85-year-old Hope man was hospitalized after a serious crash Thursday on Highway 200 east of Cooperstown. The Highway Patrol says John Nelson was operating a tractor-mower when he pulled onto the roadway and began backing into an approach.
A semi-truck struck the left side of Nelson’s tractor, ejecting him from the vehicle. He was airlifted by Sanford AirMed to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo for treatment. His current condition has not been disclosed.
The semi driver escaped injury in the collision. The Highway Patrol investigated the crash with assistance from deputies in Steele and Traill Counties. The incident occurred Thursday, August 7th.
