Twins Owners NOT Selling, Bringing in Partnership Groups

After years of wasted seasons, talent, and potential. Fans of the Minnesota Twins have been calling for something to change, and ownership was more times than none on top of the list.

Last year, the Twins’ owners the Pohlad family announced the team would be up for sale for those interested with an estimated value of $1.7 Billion dollars, and for months speculation surrounded the organization of who would come in and hopefully fix the team and make the Twins a contender.

The intensity of the want of something new came this year at the trade deadline, when the team traded away nearly 40% of its major league roster. Including closer Johan Duran, and infielder’s Carlos Correa and Willie Castro, along with multiple relievers that were key contributors to the Twins this season.

The Pohlad’s announced this morning, that going forwards, they will NOT pursue a sale of the team, and will look to bring in two significant limited partnership groups, in hopes to bring in wealth and experience to the team, and build a winning organization and culture that can be respected in this region.

The Pohlad’s announced the decision this morning on social media, and were met with many not happy responses.

SO the question remains for Twins Territory… will change come? For years the Twins have been plagued with sinking ships of seasons, early playoff exits, terrible pitching at times, and non-productive offenses. If a team is committed to winning and building a new culture, does trading 40% of a roster, who just won their playoff series in 20+ years a couple of years ago mean a move in the right direction?

The Twins have yet to announce any of the possible partners they may have.
