We are learning more about the fatal crash involving a semi-truck on the interstate in Barnes County yesterday.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released their initial report on a fatal crash on I-94 west of Valley City on Thursday afternoon.
The NDHP says a semi truck driving eastbound at 4:41 p.m. went off the road at high speeds and into a slough, before eventually coming to rest hundreds of yards into a corn field.
The NDHP says the 37-year-old driver from Hudson, South Dakota was badly injured in the wreck, and was initially transported to Mercy Hospital in Valley city before being pronounced dead.
His name is being withheld pending family notification and the continuing investigation by the Highway Patrol.
