Jamestown residents only have a couple days left to walk on the Klaus Park bridge before it’s gone forever.
The City of Jamestown’s Engineer’s Office and Parks and Recreation Office announced Monday that the Klaus Park pedestrian bridge will be closed starting Thursday, August 21st for the bridge replacement project, annouced in May.
Klaus, McElroy, and Nickeus Park are in the process of having their pedestrian bridges replaced, as Klaus and Nikeus’ bridges are over 100 years old. McElroy’s bridge was built sometime after 1957, according to the Jamestown Sun.
This closure will continue for approximately four months or until work is complete. Pedestrians should use caution in this area and use alternate routes during this time, if possible.
