Minnesota schools, early childhood education centers, and licensed family childcare providers can now apply for funding through the state’s Farm to School and Early Care Grant and Local Tots Cost-Share programs.
These initiatives reimburse participants for purchasing Minnesota-grown and raised foods, helping bring fresh, local meals to children while also creating new markets for farmers.
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) expects to award about $1.35 million total, with $200,000 dedicated to Local Tots and the rest supporting First Bite, Full Tray, and Equipment grants.
Applications and letters of intent are due by 4 p.m. CT on October 23, 2025, through the MDA’s Agricultural Growth, Research, and Innovation (AGRI) Program.
