South Dakota State University (SDSU) Extension is now accepting applications for its Elevate Ewe program, a year-long training initiative designed for beginning sheep producers.
The program, runs from September 2025 through August 2026, is open to individuals with 10 years or less of management experience, as well as those interested in starting sheep operations. Applications are due by August 29, 2025, with a registration fee of $200 per person or $300 per couple.
The Elevate Ewe Program offers a mix of workshops, webinars, field days, and one-on-one consultations, providing participants with both research-based strategies and hands-on learning. Along with practical skills, the program fosters networking opportunities with other producers and industry professionals.
