The State 4-H Livestock Skill-a-Thon Contest will take place on September 20, 2025, at the Burleigh County Extension Office in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Open to all eligible 4-H youth, the event challenges participants with hands-on activities, identification tasks, and written exercises based on the official National 4-H Skill-a-Thon rules. Registration closes September 6, and contestants must be checked in and seated by 9:55 AM for the 10:00 AM start.
Skill areas often include breed identification, feed samples, equipment use, and livestock management practices.
Families and supporters are welcome to attend, as the event provides not only competition but also an opportunity for young agricultural leaders to showcase their talents, gain confidence, and prepare for future careers in farming, veterinary science, and animal production.
