A motorcyclist was seriously injured early Sunday morning after fleeing from deputies and crashing in Bismarck. The Burleigh County Sheriff’s Office tried to stop the motorcycle around 12:25 AM for not having a license plate, but the rider fled southbound on State Street at high speed. The motorcycle struck a concrete median barrier, ejecting the unhelmeted driver into the northbound lanes while the bike skidded to Divide Avenue. The rider was transported to CHI St. Alexius with serious injuries. The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash while the Sheriff’s Office will pursue criminal charges.
