The state of North Dakota has launched the 2025 Autonomous Agriculture Grant Program, offering up to $7.5 million to accelerate the development and adoption of autonomous farming technologies.
The initiative, led by the Department of Commerce, is designed to drive innovation, build infrastructure, and strengthen the agricultural workforce while supporting rural economic growth. Applications opened on Sept. 2, and close Oct. 2, with funds required to be used by June 30, 2027. State officials say the program highlights North Dakota’s commitment to becoming a leader in agricultural automation.
Eligible applicants include nonprofits and public-private partnerships with a permanent presence in the state. Funding may support projects such as proving grounds for autonomous agriculture, commercialization of ag-tech innovations, workforce training programs, and precision equipment development.
