USDA’s latest Crop Progress report shows the 2025 corn harvest is underway, with 4% complete nationwide. Corn development is largely on track, with 95% in the dough stage, 74% dented, and 25% mature. Conditions dipped slightly, with 68% of corn rated good to excellent, down one point from last week, though states like Iowa (80%) and Wisconsin (82%) remain strong.
Soybeans are also progressing, with 97% setting pods and 21% dropping leaves. Conditions slipped one point to 64% good to excellent.
Spring wheat harvest is nearly finished at 85%, keeping ahead of average, while winter wheat planting has just started at 5% complete, matching last year’s pace. Weather remains a factor as frost hit northern areas over the weekend, though warmer conditions and scattered showers are expected this week.
