Latest MAHA Report Gains Support of Ag Groups

The Make America Healthy Again Commission released its final report Tuesday, softening earlier criticism of pesticides and winning support from many agricultural groups.

The report emphasized soil health, conservation, regenerative farming, and precision agriculture, while calling on the USDA and EPA to better educate the public about pesticide regulation. Major farm groups including the NCGA, ASA, and CropLife America praised the new approach as science-based and more balanced than earlier drafts.

Health and environmental advocates criticized the report for scaling back its stance on pesticides, removing specific references to chemicals like glyphosate. Groups like Moms Across America and Farm Action argued the commission caved to industry influence and backed off stronger reforms around chemical use and corporate control in agriculture. While the agricultural sector welcomed the report’s direction, critics say it fails to deliver the bold reforms needed to fully address public health and environmental concerns.
