State aeronautics officials report North Dakota set a new August air-travel record. Airports handled 112,982 passenger boardings, up about 5% from last year, marking a 16th straight month of growth. Seven of eight airports increased year over year.
Fargo posted an August high of 50,867 boardings. Here at home, Jamestown logged 1,025, up about 10% from a year ago; through August, Jamestown sits at 7,307 for the year, up 29%. Airlines offered 138,175 seats on 1,814 departures with an average 82% load factor, and just four cancellations statewide.
The August mark follows July’s all-time monthly record of 122,238 boardings statewide.
