The dust has settled after a Week 3 in 9-man for the ages, all 5 of the teams in the Top 5 were matched up with a team that was either in the Top 5 already, or just sniffing the outside. New Rockford-Sheyenne/Maddock, and Lamoure-LM each cruised to victories, and Linton-HMB needed a halftime kickstart to get into gear, and roll. With the other teams losing, this has given some other teams a chance at an entry in the Top 5. Lets check it out!
The 9-Man Poll goes as shown:
- New Rockford-Sheyenne/Maddock (-)
- Lamoure-LM (-)
- Linton-HMB (-)
- Hankinson (+2)
- Alexander (+1)
Also receiving votes in the poll was: North Border, Grant County/Flasher, Divide County, and Griggs/Midkota
So as we see, some new teams have cracked into the Top 5. Both Hankinson and Alexander are undefeated and have had impressive starts to their season, and were rewarded after the losses to North Border and Grant County/Flasher in Week 3. Hankinson will have a good test this week as they will travel to #2 Lamoure-LM who just got done taking care of South Border while on the road. Can Hankinson put up a fight now that they are being recognized as one of the top teams in the state? Linton-HMB will also have an interesting matchup heading into Week 4, as they travel on the road again to Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter, who is not ranked, or receiving votes but has put together a quiet and respectable 3-1 record. Will we have another big shakeup next week?
