The North Dakota State University Extension and the University of Minnesota Extension will co-host the 2026 Soil Management Summit (SMS) and Dakota Innovation and Research Technology (DIRT) Conference on January 14–15, 2026, in Fargo, North Dakota, with both in-person and virtual attendance options.
The event will feature sessions covering topics such as cover crop management, reduced tillage practices, soil biology, economics, and integrated crop-livestock systems.
Organizers highlight the importance of bringing together farmers, ranchers, researchers, agencies, and industry leaders to exchange ideas and build sustainable practices for the future. Registration is $150 before December 22 for in-person participants, which includes meals, while virtual access is available for $150.
