Ryan King’s High School Football Games of the Week! (Week 4)

By Ryan King Sep 19, 2025 | 8:50 AM

Week 4 is upon us in North Dakota High School Football! We seen multiple shakeups in the polls this week in every class, including #1 Fargo Davies falling to Bismarck Legacy in AAA, EEK took a tough road loss in Class A, and both North Border and Grant County/Flasher were ousted in the Top 5 of 9-man after Week 3. What surprises do we have in store this week?

Lets take a look at some of the games I have my eyes on heading into Week 4 of the North Dakota High School football season!

Class AAA-

#4 Bismarck High @ #3 Fargo Davies

  • Both teams were ranked in the Top 3 of Class AAA last week and now find themselves in the bottom 3 of the poll. Fargo Davies the former number one, lost to the new number one in the class Bismarck Legacy, while Bismarck High lost to the new #2 team Shanley who ran away with it at the end of the game. Both teams will wanna avoid two straight losses in a row, which one will come out on top? Expect A LOT of running plays with the ground and pound styles of both teams!

Class AA-

#3 Grand Forks Central @ Watford City

  • As far as a game goes, Grand Forks Central has been ROLLING to start their 2025 campaign averaging 35 points per game and features a stable of good running backs that carry the ball, HOWEVER. Out of curiosity I looked up the trip from Grand Forks to Watford City, and the magic number that popped up was 5 hours and 17 minutes. That total time it takes to travel from Grand Forks to Watford City. That is a LONG time to sit on a bus, and a long drive back if a team doesn’t perform to their expectations. Can Watford City use that home field advantage and the long trip to maybe knock off the red hot Knights?  Or will the Knights be ready to get off the boss and continue to roll? Answers to the question tonight!

Class A-

Central McLean @ Southern McLean

  • I put this one on here for Seth Dunlap, he has been in the corner of BOTH of these teams so far throughout the 2025 high school football season, and tonight we will see them matchup in a battle of “McLean” supremacy. Southern McLean has a slight edge in this matchup entering a perfect 4-0 and receiving votes in the poll while Central McLean enters with just one loss. Can Southern McLean pull the upset? Or can Southern McLean keep making that impact and try to crack into the wide open Class A rankings?

9-Man –

#4 Hankinson @ #2 Lamoure-LM

  • Hankinson cracks into the Top 5 for the first time this season, and is immediately met with a test, heading on the road to take on the #2 Loboes, who are coming off a dominant victory over South Border the week before. Can Hankinson put up a fight against Lamoure? Or will this be another good night for the Loboes offense who can’t seem to be stopped?
