In the wake of two fires adjacent to this beautiful new build, UJ’s historic chapel has been reborn. The University of Jamestown will dedicate its renovated Voorhees Chapel and new academic centers Friday at 4 p.m. The ceremony honors the establishment of the Unruh School of Character in Leadership and the Reuben and Clarice Liechty Center for Faith and Life.

A highlight of the event will be a special viewing of The Saint John’s Bible Heritage Collection, a rare illuminated manuscript. The dedication will also celebrate Voorhees Chapel’s recent addition to the National Register of Historic Places. Notably, the chapel was remodeled with its original architecture in mind, including revamped stained glass windows, utilizing the original glass used when it was first built.

University President Dr. Polly Peterson will speak at the ceremony, which includes musical performances by the Dr. Richard Smith Alumni Choir and recognition of major donors who made the renovations possible. The event takes place at Voorhees Chapel on the UJ Campus.
