The North Dakota Game and Fish Department has launched its “Hunt for Tomorrow” campaign as fall hunting season begins. Director Jeb Williams says conditions look much better than last year thanks to abundant rainfall, but warns hunters to remain mindful of fire danger as things dry out. The campaign promotes ethical hunting practices including keeping roadways clear, respecting landowners, properly disposing of carcasses to prevent chronic wasting disease spread, and leaving hunting areas cleaner than found. Williams urges hunters to be responsible stewards of natural resources and maintain positive relationships with the private landowners who own most of the state’s hunting ground, helping ensure hunting opportunities continue for future generations.
