North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong
Governor Kelly Armstrong and Lieutenant Governor Michelle Strinden presented the 2025 Governor’s Awards for Excellence in Public Service at the Capitol, recognizing outstanding team efforts across state agencies. More than 300 nominations were submitted by state employees. Award recipients included the NDPERS team for transitioning the state employee retirement plan, the Department of Public Instruction and Center for Distance Education for creating a first-in-the-nation military readiness curriculum, Parks and Recreation for restoring trails at Little Missouri State Park, Game and Fish for innovative wildlife habitat partnerships, and the October Wildfire Unified Command for coordinating 15 agencies during last year’s historic wildfires that burned over 118,000 acres. Governor Armstrong praised the teams for delivering “world-class service” and making North Dakota better.
