A 24-year-old Jamestown motorcyclist was injured Thursday afternoon in a crash involving a pickup driven by a juvenile. The crash occurred at the intersection of 8th Avenue Northeast and 13th Street Northeast in Jamestown, according to a press release from Lieutenant Staska. Staska says a Ford Ranger traveling south on 8th Avenue stopped at the stop sign but then entered the intersection and struck the westbound Honda motorcycle around 5:55 p.m. The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike and transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center before being transferred to a Fargo hospital for treatment. Both parties were from Jamestown. The juvenile driver of the Ford Ranger remained on scene and assisted with the investigation. The driver said they did not see the motorcycle coming and believed the intersection was clear but was cited for failure to yield after stopping. The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Highway Patrol and Jamestown Area Ambulance. The investigation is ongoing.
