Homecoming was here once again, and the Bison were looking to do two things, dominate like they had been doing so far in the 2025 season, and snap a two game losing streak to their opponent on Saturday the University of South Dakota Coyotes.
And both of those things they did in dominate fashion. The Bison would go on to win their homecoming game on Saturday 51-13, with the game over really before it started.
The Bison played nearly perfect on both side of the ball, scoring at will on offense, and not giving up much on the defensive side yet again.
Quarterback Cole Payton finished the game 14-18 with 273 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air as well as adding 109 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. Nathan Hayes also got to see the field where he would finish, 1-1, doing a lot of handing off to run out the clock during the win.
The Bisons playmakers also did their thing on Saturday, running back Barika Kneepu accounted for 87 yards and two touchdowns. While through the air, Bryce Lance and Reis Kessell each brought in a score.
And as expected, the Bisons defense ran wild through the Coyotes offense, allowing 296 total yards, 208 through the air, and just 88 allowed on the ground. The Bison defense only allowed two 3rd down conversions, and sacked USD quarter Aidan Bouman 3 times.
The Bison continue to roll, improving to 4-0 on the season, and will hit the road next week traveling to Illinois State to take on the Redbirds. Can the Bison keep it up? All signs so far this season point to an easy yes.
