The North Dakota Supreme Court is taking applications for its Rural Attorney Recruitment Program.
The initiative, launched by lawmakers in 2021, is meant to bring more lawyers to underserved parts of the state. Communities that qualify — counties with five or fewer attorneys or towns under five-thousand people — can apply to host an attorney for five years.
Funding is split between the state, the State Bar Association, and the local community. The deadline for counties and municipalities to apply is November 30 at 5 p.m.
Attorneys interested in relocating can apply online through the North Dakota Supreme Court’s website.
