It was a dominating week for the Top 5 teams in the 9 man classification, all five teams won by LARGE margins, setting up a rather boring poll for this week. The same could be considered next week, however, there will be a couple big matchups coming this Friday to maybe aid in the right to be in the Top 5 or at least receive a vote.
The 9-man Poll goes as shown:
- New Rockford-Sheyenne/Maddock (-)
- Lamoure-LM (-)
- Linton-HMB (-)
- Alexander (-)
- Divide County (-)
Also receiving votes was Hankinson, and Grant County/Flasher.
Most of the Top 5 has some favorable matchups again this week so expect some large scores. New Rockford-Sheyenne/Maddock COULD be held to less then 50 when they take on 4-2 Nelson County this week, but other than that, there will be some good battles on Friday night for teams wanting to crack into that Top 5. Grant County/Flasher floated in an out of the poll throughout the year, will travel on the road to face another team looking for recognition, 5-1 Kidder County. Also South Border returns to action after their bye and roughing up against Lamoure, to take on Hankinson who received votes in the poll this week. I imagine the winner of these matchups will stay in the Receiving votes category heading into next week, while the loser will wait till playoff time to show the rest of the state what they can do.
