Corteva Agriscience has announced that its board unanimously approved a plan to separate into two independent, publicly traded companies—one focused on crop protection and the other on seeds.
The crop protection division will retain the Corteva name, while the seed business, home to Pioneer and other regional brands, will become “SpinCo.”
Company leaders say the split will allow each business to focus on its own market priorities, technology, and growth strategies. The transition is expected to be completed in the second half of 2026.
The move comes as Corteva looks to position itself for long-term growth amid changing markets and rising competition, but investors so far appear skeptical, with the company’s stock dropping since rumors of the split emerged earlier this month.
