Cavalier Woman Arrested After Allegedly Attacking, Choking Man

Deputies say they’ve arrested a woman after a domestic assault incident in Cavalier.

The Pembina County Sheriff’s Office says 25-year-old Madison Bartlette attacked the victim inside a home on October 4th, causing the victim to have scratches on his arm and torso and swelling on his forehead.  Authorities say the victim showed deputies a video that appeared to show Bartlette pushing and hitting him.

Investigators say she also choked the man until he said he couldn’t breathe, then allegedly grabbed a screwdriver and lunged at him before he disarmed her.
No serious injuries were reported.

Bartlette was taken to the Pembina County Jail and faces charges including domestic violence aggravated assault, terrorizing, and violating a protection order.
She’s awaiting her first court appearance.
