A man wanted on a felony warrant was arrested after a chase through Grand Forks late Monday night.
Grand Forks County Sherriff’s deputies attempted to stop a vehicle in Grand Forks around 8:20 p.m. Monday, after learning the driver, 34-year-old Derek Myrvik, was wanted on a felony warrant from Minnesota.
Deputies say Myrvik refused to stop and led them on a five-mile pursuit, reaching speeds near 55 miles per hour.
Officers used spike strips and a PIT maneuver to disable the vehicle and end the chase.
Myrvik was arrested and booked into the Grand Forks County Jail. He faces the original warrant plus eight new charges tied to the pursuit.
Deputies reported no injuries, and announced the arrest on Tuesday.
