The North Dakota Department of Commerce awarded $15 million in Destination Development Grants to 23 projects statewide, including two major Jamestown initiatives, according to a press release. The Jamestown Fine Arts Association received $500,000 toward their “Raising the Bar for the Arts” capital campaign to transform a historic downtown property, the former Wonder Bar, into a year-round arts and culinary destination, tripling program capacity with cooking workshops, art therapy, and interactive exhibitions. Frontier Village was awarded $212,500 for an eighteen-hole miniature golf course featuring local themes and North Dakota stories. The grants came from 106 applications totaling over $153 million in proposals from 50 communities. Commerce officials say the investments will enhance tourism infrastructure, elevate visitor experiences, and support long-term economic growth while improving quality of life for residents across the state.
