The NDSU Bison 2025 Men’s basketball team began their campaign last night, getting the rust off, taking on the University of Minnesota in an exhibition game.
The Bison were competitive in the first half of the game, only being down 35-26 at the half, but the Bison would run out of steam, and the Gophers would pull away, winning the game that won’t count against any records 80-54.
Guard Trevian Carson was the teams leading scorer with 14 points, and Preseason Second Team Summit League selection Markhi Strickland added 9.
One thing the Bison will look to improve on this year is their 3-pt shooting, and in their first game there wasn’t much of a change, the team went 5-24, and will look to clean that up before the regular season kicks off.
The Bison will be in action again next week with another exhibition game in Fargo that will feature NDSU taking on MSU Moorhead. The team will begin the regular season on November 3rd when they travel to Oregon State to take on the Beavers.
