The Jamestown Police Department recently celebrated its officers’ outstanding work during its annual awards dinner.

The department gathered Sunday evening, October 12, for its 2025 awards banquet, where fourteen officers received honors tied to specific incidents in the past year. According to a post from JPD on Facebook, awards ranged from Honorable Service to the department’s highest award, the Medal of Honor.

Among those recognized, Sgt. Cory Beckman received the Medal of Honor — JPD’s top honor for “an outstanding act in the line of duty with risk of injury or death to members involved.”  Beckman’s honor is for his actions during a shootout outside of Fred’s Den bar last December.

Sgt. Andrew Stoen and Officer Kayla Olson received the Life Saving Award for actions that reportedly prevented loss of life.

Chief Scott Edinger thanked officers, staff and the families during the ceremony and also noted the importance of community partners in those critical moments.
