Jamestown Public Meeting Scheduled On Street Upgrades

Jamestown residents will get a look later this month at plans for one of the city’s busiest corridors, with a chance to make public comment.

The City of Jamestown will host a public input meeting Monday, October 27, to discuss a major street improvement project on the city’s east side.
City officials say the work will rebuild and resurface more than a dozen blocks along 4th Avenue East, including new pavement, drainage upgrades, and sidewalk improvements.

Plans also call for better lighting and visibility through the railroad viaduct, new traffic signals at key intersections, and updated curb ramps that meet ADA standards. Engineers are still reviewing whether parking along parts of the route will stay diagonal or switch to parallel.

The meeting runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at City Hall, where residents can review plans, ask questions, and submit feedback.  Written comments will be accepted through November 11 on the city’s website.
