Weekend Protests Draw ‘Record’ Crowds, Remain Peaceful

Protests across North Dakota remained peaceful over the weekend and led to reported record crowds in some areas.

There we a dozen ‘No Kings’ protests in cities an towns across the region, the largest reportedly in Fargo where officials estimate around 3,000 participated.

Jamestown’s crowd that gathered near Mill Hill grew to around 300 people, with some officials saying it was the largest protest related crowd in the city in at least two decades.  Valley City saw a gathering of around 150 people.

Those interviewed by the North Dakota Monitor showed a diverse background, with young activists to multi-generational farmers voicing their concern over a wide range of issues from rising prices and tariffs impacting the farm and agriculture economy to concerns over due process violations by federal law enforcement.

Most protests occurred early Saturday afternoon into the early evening across the state, where early estimates put total gatherings in the tens of thousands.
