Another police standoff ended without injuries Tuesday — this time at a Grand Forks hotel.
Grand Forks officers learned just before 1 p.m. Tuesday that a man with an outstanding warrant was inside the Ramada Inn, according to police.
Investigators say 35-year-old Jordan Groninger of Fargo and 21-year-old Skye Larson of Grand Forks then barricaded themselves in a room, prompting evacuations and a call-out for the regional SWAT and Crisis Negotiations teams.
Police believed one suspect was armed, and a less-lethal impact round was fired at the room’s glass door for tactical reasons before negotiators convinced both to surrender, according to police reports. No injuries were reported.
Groninger was wanted on a Ward County probation-revocation warrant linked to armed robbery and burglary; Larson had Grand Forks County warrants for failure to appear and disobedience of a judicial order. Additional charges are under review, police said.
This marks another standoff resolved safely in the area over the past two weeks, following similar call-outs in Fargo, Aneta, and elsewhere.
